Exploring Tarot: 10 of Wands
A man carries ten poles with growth still visible, leaning forward to bear their weight. What appears to be his home, or possibly a town, appears beyond a dual horizontal line, providing a separation between his work and his home. The man in the 10 of Wands may be shouldering a heavy burden on behalf of his family, or because he's so consumed with his work that he's taking on unnecessary responsibilities.
The number 10, reduced to one, indicates new beginnings while the suit of Wands, reflecting the fire element, describes creativity, opportunity, motivation, and the spark of life. But when Fire is not kept in check or in balance with other elements, it can become out of control, and boundaries may suffer.
Reversed, the 10 of Wands can suggest an unwillingness to take on responsibilities or a project coming to an end. It can also suggest a better balance between work and personal life.
