Integration and Balance
Today's runes were Raidho and Conjunctio from the As Above So Below reading on my YouTube channel suggest that we move forward in an integrated or unified way with others. Raidho represents integration and momentum while Conjunctio represents union or joining so one reinforces the other today.
The cards for today were all Major Arcana cards: Death (13/4), The Chariot (7), and The Moon (18/9) with an overall numerology of 2 or balance, healing, reciprocity, decisions.
Beginning with Death, we see a skeleton wearing black armor riding through the scene on a white horse. He holds a black flag with a white rose containing what appears to be an inverted pentagram in its center signifying the transition between life, death, and rebirth. The black and white colors represent both dark and light, or death and life. The King lies dead on the ground while the Queen appears bereft with a child next to her while a priest gives last rights. Two towers appear on the right side of the card with the kingdom in shadow while a large Sun rises between the towers. The Death card implies transition and rebirth along with transformation and the return of the light.
Next, The Chariot depicts a King standing in his chariot with black and white sphinx-looking lions on the ground in front of him. A shield with an upright dreidel appears on the front of the chariot with a winged Sun above the shield suggesting balance and healing. The King holds a scepter of some kind in his right hand while his left hand is empty and still. He's not holding any reins and everything seems at rest. Two castle-like buildings are on each side of the scene in the background. Again, everything seems to suggest balance and trusting the moment. The Chariot involves movement, mastery, surrender versus control, and from a higher perspective, our soul's vehicle in physical reality. And, as the 7th card from the Major Arcana, The Chariot suggests observation and knowing when to take control and when to let go of that control over our circumstances.
A large Moon rises between two towers while it looks down on a wolf and a dog barking in The Moon card. The dog is a brown color (dark) suggesting the receptive or civilized/passive side of self while the wolf is a yellow (light) color suggesting the projective or instinctual/active side of self. A path winds upward from the pond and the mountains while a crayfish rises up from the water suggesting rebirth and transition. With the canines standing on each side of the path from the pond to the mountains, this also would imply balancing both receptive/projective energies within. Regarding the two towers, we see the same two towers found in the Death card and implied in The Chariot card, reinforcing the idea of balancing dark and light. The Moon card not only represents our dreams and emotions, the cyclical nature of life, rebirth and transformation, and awakening and intuition, but it also suggests illusion and deception (either from self or others) which may also be a factor in the reading.
Taken together, the Major Arcana cards are asking us to step out of the ego's hold and return to our soul's natural state of integration. A focus on the ego's perception can increase the need for control which The Chariot shows us is really a choice that we make, with its implication the necessity of finding a healthy balance between dark and light, receptive and projective energy, and soul/ego expression.
The soul-archetype nature of the rune from the Elder Futhark and the three cards from the Major Arcana should not be taken lightly given their fundamental alignment as well as their message of balance and integration. So whatever is happening for folks today, the overall message of the reading appears to involve the necessity to see the situation from a balanced, higher perspective and then to understand the need to let go of any self-deception (or deception from others) and find a path forward together.
